Job Description:
The department of Art and Music Histories in the College of Arts and Sciences at Syracuse University is seeking a post-doctoral scholar specializing in East Asian art. The candidate will be able to pursue his/her research interests; teach East Asian art courses; apply for external grants and fellowships; present his/her research at the department's Colloquium series and through the East Asia Program; and work closely with the East Asia-related collections in the SU Art Museum, the Special Collections Research Center, and Light Work. The East Asia Program's "East Asia in the Classroom" initiative offers opportunities to engage with East Asian art scholars outside of the institution, to bring them as guest speakers to SU.
Start date: August 2024
Qualifications:
Applicants are expected to have received the Ph.D. degree in art history by the time of beginning the position and not more than five years previously.

Responsibilities include teaching East Asia art-related courses. Candidates are also expected to conduct research and actively participate in research activities, including research seminars and other program activities.
