Germanna Community College is a public, open access institution of higher education in the Virginia Community College System. Germanna Community College is centrally located in Fredericksburg, VA between Washington D.C. and Richmond and between the Blue Ridge mountains and the Chesapeake Bay. Germanna Community College is seeking to hire two full-time Enrollment Support Specialist to work within the Enrollment Services department at the Barbara J Fried Center (BJFC) located in Stafford Center Street and Fredericksburg Area campus. These positions will play a pivotal role in ensuring a seamless and positive experience for current and prospective students throughout their educational journey at Germanna Community College.

As an Enrollment Support Specialist, you will work closely with students, aiding in system access, admissions, registration, visiting student inquiries, and financial aid. You will also make regular referrals to support services such as Counseling, Advising, Accessibility Resources, Military and Veterans Services, and Testing. These roles will be integral in guiding students from initial inquiry to successful enrollment, helping them navigate any challenges they may encounter along the way.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provides students with assistance in system access, admissions onboarding, registration, and financial aid guidance.
  • Make referrals to Counseling, Advising, Accessibility Resources, Veteran's Affairs, Testing, and other support services.
  • Assist students with their schedules, conduct email, text, and phone outreach supporting their transition from prospect to applicant.
  • Support students both in-person and online, responding to email requests, and processing documentations for students.
  • Provide excellent customer service, timely follow-up, and ability to empathize with others in a high touch environment.
  • Troubleshoot any barriers the student may have in onboarding as well as outline the onboarding process for new students.
  • Assist students with the admissions process, including application submission, document processing, MiTek verification access, and technology troubleshooting.
  • Collaborate with other Enrollment Services staff and campus departments to support student success and enhance the overall student experience.

KSA's/Required Qualifications:
  • Previous experience in Enrollment Services, an Admissions Office, or as an Enrollment Support Specialist or in a related role.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and data management.
  • Strong analytical skills with making informed decisions.
  • Detailed-oriented and capable of maintaining confidential information.
  • Excellent customer service skills with the ability to handle stressful situations
  • Experience using student information system (PeopleSoft, Banner, Navigate, etc.)
  • Experience with or willingness to learn AI tools
