Classification Pay Scale
In compliance with SB 1162, Western University of Health Sciences is providing a pay scale for this position. The pay scale reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for this position. Within this range, the individual pay is determined by a variety of factors, including but not limited to job-related skills, experience, relevant education or training, and work location. Please note that the compensation details listed reflects the base salary only.

Job Summary
Provide education and supervision to Department of Health Sciences students (primary engagement will be with the healthcare administration program) including the development, implementation, evaluation, and assessment of curriculum, direct students field training experience, research, and service activities.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Individuals must possess these knowledge, skills and abilities or be able to explain and demonstrate that the individual can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of skills and abilities.
1. Strong interest in and prior exposure to conducting research beyond graduate thesis/dissertation. Established line of inquiry preferred.
2. Experience of 3 or more years in the area in which courses will be taught.
3. Possess the appropriate foundational knowledge to deliver quality health science education.
4. Ability to organize and present material in lectures.
5. Ability to communicate effectively in large and small groups as well as one-on-one.
6. Ability to accurately examine the knowledge and clinical skills attained by the students.
7. Excellent communication skills.
8. High organizational skills & ability to multi-task.
Required Qualifications
1. Education: Possesses a doctoral degree in healthcare administration, public health, health services or another related discipline from an accredited institution; OR possesses a professional degree (e.g., MD, DO, DrPH) with relevant and applicable experience in healthcare administration; OR possesses a doctoral/professional degree along with an applicable masters degree (e.g., MBA, MHA, MPH).
2. Experience: Three years experience teaching in higher education.
a. A combination of higher education teaching experience along with direct healthcare administration work experience will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis.
3. Preferences:
a. Preference will be given to individuals with experience in coordinating students fieldwork experiences.
b. Preference will be given to individuals with an established line of inquiry or research agenda.
