In compliance with SB 1162, Western University of Health Sciences is providing a pay scale for this position. The pay scale reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for this position. Within this range, the individual pay is determined by a variety of factors, including but not limited to job-related skills, experience, relevant education or training, and work location. Please note that the compensation details listed reflects the base salary only.

Job Summary
Schedules dental appointments for patient; performs varied administrative and office duties to support the clinical activities of the College of Dental Medicine clinics; requires extensive knowledge of dental office procedures and protocols.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
1. Experience in the policies and procedures of a multi-provider dental practice, preferably within a dental school environment.
2. Dental services billing experience with knowledge of billing for Denti-Cal and private insurance companies.
3. Experience in working in an electronic health record and electronic billing.
4. Must have working knowledge of the laws governing billing and collections efforts.
5. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Must be able to effectively interact with health care professionals, students, and patients. Bilingual ability helpful.
6. Experience with electronic health record, computers, printers, calculator, fax machine, copy machine operation, and telephone operation
Required Qualifications
Education: Any combination of education, training, or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Experience: minimum of 3-5 years of administrative experience in a dental office or large dental clinic, scheduling, and dental insurance billing. Knowledge of dental terminology.
Experience using dental Electronic Health Record.
Must have a valid Drivers License
Must maintain a Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) that satisfies the requirements of the WesternU Vehicle Use Policy
Preferred Qualifications
RDA/DA or previous dental assisting experience.
Preference given to those who have experience in dental education.
Experience billing Denti-cal.
Bilingual (Spanish/English)
