Job Summary
The Division of Continuing Education at the University of Colorado Boulder invites applications for a Peer Mentor for our Individually Designed Post-Baccalaureate Pre-Health program! The primary responsibilities of this position are to provide individualized guidance to fellow non-degree post-baccalaureate pre-health students, to build a sense of community among students in this population by organizing and running periodic social events, and to provide input on the student perspective to program administrators. This position reports to the Pre-Health Program Director.

What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be
Serve as a mentor to students enrolled with individually designed Post-Baccalaureate status:
- Offer a primary point of contact for students who have questions and concerns, as needed (for up to 5 hours per week), via in-person meet-ups, email, phone, text, and/or Zoom.
- Refer students, as needed, to appropriate staff and other campus resources.
- Design, coordinate, and lead two or more group social events for the students each semester.
Serve as a liaison between students and the administrative team:
- Participate in periodic meetings with program staff (each meeting is 1.5 hours in duration), plus occasional additional "special topics" meetings, as needed.
- Serve as a student advocate.
- Solicit feedback and ideas from the students and communicate those suggestions to program staff.
Carrying out additional administrative duties, as assigned:
- May include tasks such as crafting surveys and compiling responses, coordinating and participating in other special events, creating informational handouts for students, etc.
What You Should Know
This position's schedule expectation is Monday-Friday, on-call, up to 5 hours per week.

What We Require
- Completed Bachelor's Degree from a regionally accredited institution.
- Completion of 18+ credit hours of math/science pre-health prerequisites while enrolled as a non-degree pre-health student at the University of Colorado Boulder.
- A history of engagement with Continuing Education's Pre-Health Advising services.
What You Will Need
- Effective, accurate, and clear communication, with excellent verbal and interpersonal skills.
- Interest in providing mentorship and support to individual students in addition to planning and performing group events that will promote students' pre-health preparation while fostering a sense of community.
- A high degree of personal responsibility, self-motivation, and attention to detail.
- Strong public speaking skills.
