Job Description Summary

Reporting to the Executive Director of Operations in Law Development and Alumni Relations, the Assistant Director of Data Services manages the Law School's Gift Processing and Research and Prospect Management processes.

Job Description

RESEARCH & PROSPECT MANAGEMENT
  • Collaborate with and support the Research and Prospect Management team, consisting of the Associate Director of Research and Prospect Management and Campaign Research Coordinator.
  • Assist the Research and Prospect Management team in producing a range of high-quality research products and reports concerning Law School prospects for the Law Development team in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Coordinate with the Stewardship team to identify alumni who have gone through important events and send the appropriate letters/emails.


GIFT MANAGEMENT

  • Work collaboratively with the business affairs team to develop and manage a gift tracking system from receipt through stewardship.
  • Participate in a cross-departmental committee to identify and resolve questions about gift allocation and fund spending.
  • Implement systems (and prepare related reports and other documentation) to ensure proper receipt and tracking of all incoming gifts and pledges and coordinate with the Stewardship team to send an appropriate acknowledgment of those gifts in a timely manner.
  • Oversee all gift processing responsibilities.
  • Work with Annual Giving team to verify donor information for Law School's Annual Report.
  • Draft formal gift agreements for the Law School and submit agreements for appropriate approval/signatures.


GENERAL DUTIES
  • Prepare for, and staff, events hosted by the Development, such as Alumni Weekend, Benefactors' Dinner, Overseers Meetings, various lectures, and other events.
  • Coordinate across the DAR office to ensure that information is captured and archived in a useful and consistent manner.
  • Work with the DAR office towards a smooth database transition from Atlas to Compass, and work to find the best methods for using Compass once it is in place.


OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES AS ASSIGNED

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or a comparable level of work experience required.
  • Minimum of two years' experience in gift processing or data management.
  • Excellent verbal & written communication skills required.
  • Knowledge of office procedures, practices & methods, including word processing (Microsoft Word for Windows), spreadsheet (Microsoft Excel) and database (Microsoft Access) programs required.
  • Capacity to work independently as well as a team member is essential.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide excellent customer service to many constituents in a fast-paced environment.
  • The candidate will have a history of working successfully with diverse constituencies, including colleagues, faculty, alumni, current students, and prospective students.
  • We seek candidates who have established track records as collaborators in the workplace.
  • Commitment to the Law School ideals of collaboration is required.

Salary offers are made based on the candidate's qualifications, experience, skills, and education as they directly relate to the requirements of the position, as well as internal and market factors and grade profile.
