About the Position:

The mission of the Transfer, Adult, Parent, and Pregnant (TAPP) Students Center at California State University Fullerton is to assist Transfer, Adult, Parenting, and Pregnant students connect with university resources and a network of Titans with similar backgrounds and experiences to increase their academic, personal, and professional development. Our vision is to continuously evolve to meet the unique needs of non-traditional students by providing resources and recognition as they obtain their education. We hope to create an inclusive environment that reaches beyond the classroom allowing our students to establish strong ties to the campus and surrounding communities. We seek an exceptional individual to join our team as the TAPP Administrative Support Coordinator (Administrative Support Coordinator I). The ideal candidate in this role should have a positive attitude and an active, energetic mind characterized by highly ethical practices and a commitment to diversity, openness, flexibility, integrity, and kindness.

Coordinate clerical and administrative support for approximately four full-time staff, 10 part-time student staff, and two graduate liaisons in the CSUF TAPP Center to contribute to the engagement, support, and service of Transfer, Adult, Parenting, and Pregnant Students. Responsible for all administrative support for departmental annual and special events, programs, and services planning and implementation. Manages day-to-day office climate, records, procedures, student schedules, technology, and supplies. Assists with hiring, training, supervising, and processing payroll of student staff and academic interns. Provides customer service and problem-solving for students, parents, faculty, and staff needing a wide range of services at the TAPP Center. Other duties as assigned.


Essential Qualifications:
High School diploma or the equivalent and four years of progressively responsible experience in general office, clerical or secretarial work or the equivalent. Thorough, detailed knowledge of applicable university infrastructure, policies, and procedures. Thorough knowledge of English grammar, punctuation, and spelling. Thorough knowledge of office systems with the ability to use a range of technology, systems and software packages. Ability to independently handle multiple work unit priorities and projects. Ability to apply a variety of policies and procedures where specific guidelines may not exist. Working knowledge of budget policies and procedures. Ability to perform standard business math including calculating ratios and percentages, tracking financial data, and making simple projections. Ability to draft and compose correspondence and standard reports. Ability to handle effectively a broad range of interpersonal contacts including those at a higher level and those sensitive in nature.

A background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily and is required for employment. CSU will make a conditional offer of employment, which may be rescinded if the background check reveals disqualifying information, and/or it is discovered that the candidate knowingly withheld or falsified information. Failure to complete the background check satisfactorily may affect the continued employment of a current CSU employee who was conditionally offered the position.


Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working with non-traditional student populations including, but not limited to, transfer, adult, parenting and/or pregnant. Bachelor's Degree preferred.
