Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
The Reporting Analyst works closely with the Manager of Research and Analytics to develop, implement, and document data strategies, focusing on automation and process improvement to enhance data accessibility and usability across the institutions. This position requires a balance of technical and collaboration skills, with a focus on automating reporting and improving data accessibility.

  • Collect, Analyze, and interpret data to create reports and dashboards that track the college's key performance indicators associated with enrollment, student success, and other relevant metrics.
  • Design, prepare and maintain interactive reports and analytical dashboards used by stakeholders to interact with the college's data warehouse using business intelligence tools.
  • Develop report and dashboards following established data governance guidelines and procedures for institutional data quality and integrity developed by the Office of Research and Analytics
  • Assist with the development and enhancements of the College's official term census reports.
  • Based on system development planning, work closely with IT on business requirements, data definition, dashboard/reporting design specification and user support.
  • Gain in-depth understanding of enterprise data systems, databases, and location and purpose of historical and published information, in order to effectively access, extract and assembly data and information to support institutional needs.
  • Assist with other tasks associated with research projects, as assigned by the Manager of Research and Analytics.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


  • Qualifications:

    • Education
      • Bachelor's Degree in statistics, data science, information/computer science, or related discipline required.
      • Master's Degree in statistics, data science, information/computer science, or related discipline with significant coursework in statistics preferred.
    • Experience
      • Minimum of 2-3 years of demonstrated experience with data analysis that includes routinely accessing, querying, and merging data extracted from relational databases using SQL.
      • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in designing, building, and maintaining analytical dashboards using Tableau required.
      • Demonstrated experience with developing interactive reports using Crystal Reports strongly preferred.
      • Experience working with stakeholders to design reports and dashboards that meet their needs.
      • Experience with understanding ETL (Extract, Transfer, Load) processes required.
      • Experience with statistical programming languages such as SAS preferred.
      • Knowledge of one higher education MIS or ERP preferred.
      • Knowledge of higher education data elements and their utilization required.
      • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey complex data insights clearly.


    Working Conditions:

  • Typical equipment utilized in position: SQL Server Suite, SAP Business Objects, Tableau, SAS, Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook, Visio, Word).
  • This position requires a background check and drug screen.

    Hiring Range:
    11 Salary/Starting salary $66,487 based on experience.

    Competitive starting pay is dependent on education and experience.
