Essential Job Duties

Key Responsibilities

1. Contribute to the training of veterinary students in Nutrition (40% FTE):
a. Participate in the curricular activities for Year 1 and 2 students, including but not limited to content expertise in Nutrition, facilitation of Problem-Based Learning (PBL) activities, clinical skills laboratories, and other ancillary activities as determined in the curriculum development process.
b. Provide leadership and/or instruction for Year 3 and 4 courses and clinical activities.

2. Pursue scholarly endeavors and professional self-development, with opportunities to engage in research, as negotiated (40% FTE if tenure track; 25% FTE if non-tenure):
a. If tenure track: Develop a self-sustaining research program and participate in the
development of post-DVM training programs.
b. Participate in research mentoring of veterinary students.
c. Participate in local, national, and/or international continuing education programs

Key Responsibilities

3. Clinical services, as negotiated and assigned (15% FTE if tenure-track; 30% if non-tenure), with the opportunity to develop a clinical program in coordination with the WesternU Pet Health Center.

4. Participate in college and university committees. Represent the college to external persons and agencies, including funding agencies (5% FTE).
