Job Description:
This position is responsible for supporting the work for Community Engagement office with the external community by coordinating the programs and opportunities with community partners. The Coordinator will monitor and evaluate these engagements and report on performance to the Executive Director of Community Engagement. The Coordinator will also update the community engagement team on stakeholder situations and opportunities in the community, ensuring appropriate outreach is conducted within budget parameters and in a way that supports operational goals.

The Coordinator is also responsible for maintaining positive relationships, as directed, for the University with the Community partners and will ensure that Provides information that assists in maintaining the organization's database of community contacts.

Responsibilities:
  • Implementing, coordinating, monitoring and evaluating Syracuse University community engagement programs.
  • Stays apprised of community stakeholder situations, ensuring appropriate outreach is conducted accurately, timely, within budget parameters and in a way that supports operational goals.
  • Coordinates events to support programs and goals.
  • Foster a productive relationship between Syracuse University leadership and community leaders.
  • Maintains the organization's database of community contacts and updates it regularly.
  • Monitor and track community program outcomes and outputs; analyze potential impact on university operations; develop positions thereon; communicate views internally and externally.
  • Represent and advance Syracuse University's community relations agenda before local stakeholders.
  • Direct and maintain communication with Syracuse University leadership and internal departments to identify community issues requiring action.
  • Establish a positive, credible and influential presence for Syracuse University on key associations, as well as community groups.
  • As needed, work cross-functionally and coordinate activities with Advancement and External Affairs, Schools & Colleges, Marketing & Communications and Facilities.
  • Other duties as assigned.
