Job Description:
This role will be responsible to serve as a university resource to assist the Purchasing Department, the campus and the community by supporting the University's ongoing commitment to the Go Local Buy Program. This role is to support University efforts to develop, advance and guide the Buy portion of the Go Local opportunities as a shared responsibility.

Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for assisting in the development, administration and communicating with all University departments their individual goals and responsibilities for the Purchasing portion of the Go Buy Local program. Primary emphasis will be to support efforts to monitor, and increase spend with Go Local suppliers.
  • Communicate, monitor and report Go Buy Local goals to all areas of the campus.
  • Provide guidance to the University community towards consistently including diverse suppliers in the buying and solicitation process.
  • Work with Purchasing Department Buyers identify opportunities to increase University spending with Go Local Buy suppliers through inclusion of solicitation opportunities.
  • Work with Purchasing Department Buyers and Sourcing in identifying key participation areas of spend that are available from Go Local Buy suppliers.
  • Assist with quantitative and qualitative research and analysis on issues impacting Go Local Buy supplier success to continually improve the Go Local program.
  • Assist in developing and executing strategies, goals, measurements, tactics, and communications for the Purchasing Go Local Buy program.
  • Assist in designing, modifying, installing and/or maintain key metrics that drive and measure diversity performance.
  • Assist in the creation, analysis and dissemination of routine supplier diversity measurements and associated reports.
  • Preparation or coordination of all reporting that tracks actual and attempted spend with DBE suppliers, and presentation of status reports to senior management and others.
  • Assists in the development, monitoring and statistical reporting of the Purchasing Building Go Local Program for both Tier I and Tier II efforts; provide a quarterly information/performance summary to share with stakeholders; identify and manage university spend targets for Purchasing Go Local Buy efforts.
  • Assists in the development preparation and delivery of all scheduled and ad-hoc reports for Purchasing Go Local Buy activity.
  • Reports on established goals and other metrics related to the Purchasing Go Local Buy program.
  • Identifies and recommends targets for participation in solicitations.
  • Proactively seek out, identify, utilize, and develop relationships with diverse businesses to maximize opportunities for the campus and Go Local suppliers.
  • Assist diverse suppliers in doing business with the University.
  • Lead the University's Purchasing Go Local Buy program participation with local organizations for the purpose of expanding the list of qualified Purchasing Go Local suppliers and communicating these to campus.
  • Develop constructive relationships through outreach efforts develop the capacity and capability of Purchasing Go Local firms as strategic business partners.
  • Develop and deliver presentations, seminars, workshops, and training for university faculty and staff and the Purchasing Go Local Buy suppliers that show the strategy, tactics, goals, metrics of the Purchasing Go Local program.
  • Educate internal constituents regarding supplier diversity by communicating the rationale, goals, and internal procedures regarding the supplier diversity program as well as the strategic value associated with a diverse supplier base.
