Position Summary: The primary location of this position is the Cullowhee, NC campus.

The Assistant Director for Campus Programs reports to the Associate Director for Student Programs & Activities. This position is responsible for assisting in supervising the student programming board, which is made up of approximately 8undergraduate students who coordinate and present a variety of programs for the WCU community.

This position researches and inquires with agents, vendors, and other institutions to bring an array of programming to WCU. This position works collaboratively with the Department of Residential Living, the Department of Athletics, the Department of Campus Recreation and Wellness, and other campus partners to provide campus wide programming.

This position will play a large role in planning the Class Photo, Freshman Run, and Spring Fling. This position assists in creating, implementing, and reviewing assessment data from Last Minute Production's programs to demonstrate effectiveness of the programming unit in meeting the Department of Campus Activities' mission. This position will serve as a designee/representative in the absence of the Associate Director for Student Programs & Activities.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required for this position:

Minimum Qualifications: Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States and must not require immigration employment sponsorship.Masters degree in Higher Education, Student Affairs, Counseling, or a related field, or Bachelors degree and 2 years experience post-degree in higher education and/or student programming and activities. Degree must be from an appropriately accredited institution.

Preferred Qualifications: Degree with a concentration in College Student Personnel, Higher Education Administration or related field. Knowledge and experience working with a student programming board. Experience collaborating with other departments on campus to create campus wide programs. Exemplary organizational skills with a strong emphasis on detail. Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills. Outstanding customer service skills. Ability to prioritize workload according to volume and urgency. Strong leadership and program planning skills.
