Job Summary:
We are searching for a qualified post-doctoral fellow to join our growing laboratory, whose principal investigator is an NIH-funded scientist. Postdoctoral fellow's main focus in the Kumar Lab is to study functional analysis of gonadotropin biosynthesis, secretion and action in gonads and bone and adipose tissues using multiple in vivo and in vitro approaches. These include transgenic, cell culture, molecular biological, genetics, biochemical and other physiological approaches. Successful applicants will need to demonstrate a strong work ethic, to have the ability to work both independently and collaboratively, to exhibit excellent skills in scientific writing, and to display meticulous, detail-oriented technical skills and record-keeping.
Key Responsibilities:
Research 90%:
- Work under supervision of Dr. Kumar on research projects including performing experiments
- Interpretation of experimental results, data and statistical analyses.
- Collaborate with mentor and other Professional Research Services professionals/students in the lab.
- Assist in maintaining lab equipment and laboratory maintenance.
Mentorship 10%
- Teach/supervise students and/or research assistants.
Work Location:
Onsite - this role is expected to work onsite and is located in Aurora, CO.

Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.
- PhD in relevant scientific area such as Biochemistry, Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, or Reproductive Biology
- Relevant previous post-doctoral experience (for applicants with a previous postdoctoral fellowship)
- Relevant technical skills, including experience with primary cell isolation, cell culture, and routine laboratory experiments such as performance and analysis of real-time PCR, western blotting, biochemical assays, immunohistochemistry, immunofluorescence, EIAs, gene transfection/transduction studies, generation of viral constructs, iPSC technology
- Experience in handling mice
Preferred Qualifications:
- PhD in reproductive biology/endocrinology/mouse genetics
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Excellent skills in scientific writing
- Ability to work independently yet collaboratively
- A strong work ethic and a commitment to being a team player in the lab and advancing knowledge in the field
- Meticulous record-keeping of experiments and laboratory operations

Anticipated Pay Range:
The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established as HIRING RANGE:
Salaries commensurate with experience according to NIH Kirschstein-NRSA guidelines which are $61,008 - $74,008
If you have prior state-classified service in the same class series as this position, your pay may be set at a higher amount per the state Step Pay Program implemented on July 1, 2024. The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position may be eligible for overtime compensation, depending on the level.
