Job Summary
The Program Coordinator, ROCK Center assists the Director with creating, implementing, and promoting the vision and mission of the Roots of Compassion and Kindness (ROCK Center), which fosters positive academic and behavioral outcomes through strategies of empathy and engagement. The Program Coordinator, ROCK Center provides day-to-day and administrative operations oversight for the Center programs both on-campus and within the community. This role assists with program development, conducts community education and outreach sessions, manages the Center website and social media channels, participates on committees, and works with stakeholders.

Job Description
Typical duties may include but are not limited to:
- Assists the Director in coordinating and managing the day-to-day program and administrative operations of the ROCK Center.
- Coordinates the design, development and implementation of programs to achieve Center objectives.
- Develops and maintains professional relationships with key stakeholders, sponsors, and community organizations, including partnerships with K-12 schools, libraries, non-profits, mental health agencies, and other organizations that promote education, wellness, and mental health initiatives to support and develop ROCK Center community outreach
- Works with faculty, staff, Board members, and community agencies to plan collaborative community service projects and to create and execute community education and awareness sessions.
- Promotes Center programs, services, and courses both on-and off-campus.
- Identifies, plans, and leads discussions and workshops on ROCK courses, affiliations, pedagogical best practices, service-learning implementation, assignment design, assessment, and teaching and learning objectives.
- Collaborates with campus stakeholders, board members, and community organizations to coordinate, apply for, schedule, and manages the implementation of grant-related programming in the community.
- Plans and coordinates events, seminars, presentations, and workshops that support Center strategic and academic achievement goals.
- Oversees program reporting according to requirements including presentations, publications, reports, and other deliverables to sponsors and stakeholders.
- Oversee communications, promotions, and public relations for the ROCK Center. Develops and maintains the department's website and social media channels.
- Compiles data and provides annual reporting for the purposes of evaluating program progress to achieve program objectives. Identifies opportunities for improvement that enable the program to achieve its strategic goals.
- Participates on Center committees and represents the Center in meetings and at events as needed.
- Directs and coordinates the work of Center team members, and recruits, hires, trains, supervises, and evaluates OPS and part-time student employees.
- Assists with planning strategies for fundraising and budgeting, including making recommendations for office and art supplies, branding materials, and personnel in compliance with university policies and procedures.
- Oversees and supports the activities of the ROCK Registered Student Organizations as Advisor
- Oversees the ROCK Reads program.
Other Duties:
- Assists the Director with scheduling and coordinating ROCK Center Board meetings and searches for new Board members.
- Supports relevant ROCK research initiatives and collaborates with faculty on classroom support and IRB-approved data collection.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Additional Job Description
Required Qualifications:
- This position requires either eight years of directly full-time experience or, as an alternative, a Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in an appropriate area of specialization and four years of full-time experience directly related to the job functions.
- Any appropriate combination of relevant education, experience, and/or certifications may be considered.
- Experience operating a personal computer and proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree from an accredited institution in an appropriate area of specialization.
- Proficiency in using social media platforms and website management software.
- Experience and/or familiarity with working in an interdisciplinary context
- Experience working with K-12 schools
- Experience presenting information clearly and concisely in public forums
- Demonstrated research productivity as evidenced by scholarly publications
- Demonstrated experience in leadership and/or teaching excellence.
- Experience participating in family literacy, bilingual teaching, and cross-cultural engagement opportunities.
- Experience with fundraising and/or grant-writing.
- Commitment to improving undergraduate education and the achievement of academic excellence.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Knowledge of policies, procedures, and regulations pertaining to the position.
- Knowledge of children's literature relating to kindness, compassion, and empathy.
- Knowledge of best practices in higher education, particularly in relation to service learning.
- Knowledge of required regulatory and ethical aspects of scholarly activities, research, and IRB approval.
- Ability to supervise and work with students in K-12 settings.
- Knowledge of interdisciplinary research on kindness, compassion, and empathy.
- Ability to successfully plan and implement large-scale events for students.
- Ability to manage the work of others by providing support, guidance, motivation, oversight, and inspiration.
- Ability to travel to school partner sites as necessary.
- Knowledge of web design and social media implementation.
- Knowledge of practices and procedures related to service-learning.
- Skill in organizing resources and establishing priorities.
- Skill in using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.

- Strong organizational skills and an ability to prioritize and complete simultaneous projects within deadlines.
- Ability to work successfully as both a member of a team and independently with minimal supervision.
