We are searching for a highly qualified individual who can contribute to developing guidelines and processes for new types of linguistic annotation for dialogues as well as work closely with faculty as part of an editorial team for a public domain Computational Linguistics journal.

What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be
- Play a leadership role in ensuring adherence to the highest standards of consistency and precision for linguistic annotation, including using multiple approaches for calculating inter-annotator agreement.
- Provide thoughtful insights and suggestions for novel dialogue annotation approaches and for streamlining the annotation process.
- In addition, management oversight of a public domain Computational Linguistics journal including tracking the review work flow, outreach to related societies to solicit special issue proposals, quarterly editorial board meetings, and occasional recruitment of new authors and reviewers.
What You Should Know
A deep and broad understanding of the field of computational linguistics, especially with regard to linguistic annotation and paper publication. Extensive experience with the computational linguistics and linguistics communities and the various organizations that sponsor conferences.
What We Can Offer
Approximately $50 an hour, to be paid hourly. (On an annual basis, a range of $80,000 to $110,000, pro-rated to the percentage of effort.)

What We Require
- A Phd in Computational Linguistics, Computer Science, Linguistics or a related field.
- Extensive experience, more than 10 years, developing and managing linguistic annotation projects, including training annotators.
- Extensive experience, more than 10 years, working closely with the Computational Linguistics community, and a publication track record.
What You Will Need
- Organizational and management skills.
- In depth linguistic knowledge.
- In depth annotation knowledge.
- A thorough understanding of standard Computational Linguistic publication practices.
