Job Description:
The School Technologies & Trades at Madison College is currently seeking a Part-Time Senior Lab Coordinator - Auto Collision to join the department.
The Part-Time Senior Lab Coordinator - Auto Collision position plays a vital role in maintaining and improving the overall quality of the Auto Collision program. This role supports student retention, recruitment, and success while serving as a central point of contact within the automotive department for students, staff, and industry representatives. The coordinator actively builds and maintains relationships with industry and supplier contacts through in-person and electronic communication and works to optimize equipment acquisition and resource management within budgetary constraints.
This position reports to the Associate Dean - School of Technologies and Trades.
This part-time position is scheduled for 25 hours per week, Monday through Thursday from 7:30am to 1:30pm. Offering flexibility to work either a full 52-week calendar year or a 40-week schedule aligned with the academic year.

Essential Responsibilities:
Budget and Purchasing
- Manage purchasing of tools, equipment, and supplies, including securing purchase orders and obtaining quotes for capital equipment. Monitor department budget and purchases using the PeopleSoft system, ensuring projects stay within budget and timelines.
Customer Service and External Communication
- Assist with customer service, including estimating repair costs, scheduling project pick-ups, and maintaining relationships with industry representatives. Procure donations and discounts, serve as the central point of contact for the department, and attend conferences to represent Madison College and build industry connections.
Lab Equipment Maintenance
- Maintain and repair lab equipment and tools, including computer-based diagnostic updates. Research and implement emerging technologies and ensure equipment is organized and operational.
In-Lab Support
- Support students and instructors by organizing and repairing vehicles and lab equipment, setting up and taking down demonstration equipment, and maintaining a neat and orderly shop environment.
Documentation and Planning
- Maintain documentation for ICAR certification, donations, and financial accounts. Assist with departmental planning, including unit plans, capital and operational budgets, and lab safety documentation.
Program and Student Recruitment
- Manage recruiting materials, schedule recruiting visits, conduct facility tours, and assist with maintaining and updating the Auto Collision Department website.
Minimum Requirements:
- Technical Diploma in Auto Collision or related field, or equivalent working experience. *Experience used as an equivalent of an educational requirement is in addition to any experience required by the position.
- Three (3) years' work experience directly related to the skills required to successfully perform the duties of this position.
