Job Description:

Madison College is hiring a Cloud Support Specialist for the Technology Services Department. This role primarily focuses on the administration, maintenance, and monitoring of Madison College's cloud application and computing platforms, with an emphasis on Exchange Online and Microsoft 365. Key responsibilities include managing user accounts, mailboxes, distribution groups, and email policies, as well as monitoring and troubleshooting email flow and performance. The role also involves troubleshooting user provisioning, license management, and service configurations to ensure smooth integration and synchronization with other cloud services.

Typical duties include working within the ITSM ticketing system to resolve incidents and service requests related to cloud services, documenting knowledgebase articles on collaboration and directory services processes, and providing support for faculty, staff, students, alumni, vendors, and College technology partners.

While the core duties revolve around the tasks outlined above, candidates with more experience or those who exceed the minimum qualifications may be assigned additional responsibilities, including maintaining and supporting single sign-on configurations and domain services, issuing and renewing digital certificates for secure communications, and managing synchronization engines with cloud vendors to ensure data consistency.

Position Details: This is a full-time hourly position. IT support hours are Monday -Friday 7:30am-5:00 pm CST. Flexible schedule within those times. This position has an option for 100% remote work (remote equipment package will be provided). While preference will be given to those candidates residing in the state of Wisconsin, we will consider applicants from the following states: Arkansas, Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Michigan, Minnesota, New Jersey, New York, Oklahoma, Oregon and Texas.

Essential Responsibilities:
  • Supports, monitors, document, maintains, and troubleshoot enterprise applications including Microsoft Exchange Online, Microsoft Exchange Server, Active Directory, Azure Active Directory, Azure Federated Services, Office 365 applications, Microsoft Teams, domain services, IAM services, and certificate services.
  • Triage incidents in our IT Service Management (ITSM) tool.
  • Document processes and procedures for use by immediate team members, other Technology Services teams and end-users.
  • Collaborate with other Technology Services teams to troubleshoot and develop correction action plans for technology incidents


Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • Experience using and supporting Microsoft 365 applications.
  • Experience supporting technology and end-users in an enterprise environment.
  • Effective communication skills with ability to convey information clearly to diverse audiences and to explain technical concepts to non-technical individuals.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, capable of engaging professionally and collaborating effectively with all members of the college community.
  • Ability to use critical thinking skills to define a problem, analyze that problem using evidence and suggest corrective actions.
  • Ability to work independently to research and recommend enterprise systems and future technologies.


Minimum Requirements:
  • Associate Degree or equivalent working experience. *Experience used as an equivalent of an educational requirement is in addition to any experience required by the position.
  • Two (2) years of work experience which could include internships.
