Job Summary:
Reporting to the Senior Director of Counseling and Wellness, the Associate Director of Wellness Services assists the Director with coordination, delivery, and evaluation of Counseling & Wellness Center services and programs.
The role includes responsibility for developing, coordinating, managing logistics, and implementing comprehensive wellness education initiatives, with the goal of promoting student safety and healthy decision-making. Priority areas include sexual health, sexual responsibility, including Title IX education, suicide prevention, substance abuse prevention, bystander intervention, interpersonal violence prevention, stress management and self-care, healthy relationships and mental health promotion. The Associate Director collaborates with Counseling Center staff colleagues, leadership, and campus partners to coordinate, develop, deliver, and evaluate experiential programs, workshops, and trainings to students, faculty, and staff, both during and outside regular business hours as appropriate.
In consultation with Counseling and Wellness leadership and campus partners, the Associate Director for Wellness Promotion puts into action strategic plans, goals, and measurable objectives for wellness promotion programs and services, evaluates and analyzes the effectiveness of programs, and integrates health data into outreach interventions. The Associate Director is responsible for collecting, analyzing, and reporting data related to prevention program delivery and efficacy; coordinating scheduling, marketing, logistics, budgeting, and supplies for wellness programming, and supervising student staff focused on prevention activities on behalf of the Counseling and Wellness Services.

The salary for this position is $70,000. In addition to salary, the university offers a comprehensive benefits package including health insurance, life and disability insurance and retirement. - A masters degree in a related field, student affairs, public health, health promotion, health education, health policy, or health communications.
- Three (3) plus years of experience in the field of wellness education and prevention or working on college campus or working with college-aged students.
- Demonstrated strong written and verbal communication skills;
- Demonstrated ability to assess need(s), identify programs to fit campus needs, implement programs, and evaluate strategies.
- Demonstrated ability to apply a culturally responsive and flexible approach that is supportive to the diverse needs, including universal accessibility, of our students, faculty, staff, and the public.
Preferred Qualifications:

- Strong understanding of the public health framework and its function on a college campus.
- Management or supervisory experience.
- Advanced certification such as Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES), Master Certified Health Education Specialist (MCHES), or Certified in Public Health (CPH).
- Demonstrated competency in computer skills including utilization of MS Office applications for word processing, records maintenance, development and use of forms, and calendar applications, with a willingness to learn platforms and applications as they emerge;
- Experience leading a peer education program and engaging with students from a wide range of identities and backgrounds.
- Bilingual.

Leadership and Supervision
- Responsible for developing and implementing data-driven, evidence-based outreach strategies and education to the EWU student population.
- Provide leadership for wellness programs and activities if the senior director of counseling and wellness is not available.
- Monitor program budgets and control of expenditures.
- Stay current with campus, local and national college health and wellness issues and educate the campus community as appropriate.
- Establishes the strategic direction of signature programs like the peer education program, Health Hut, CWS outreach, wellbeing coaching, and student-driven health communication content development.
- Help with the creation of required reports, including the biennial review.
- Serve on university-wide and/or divisional committees as appropriate.
- Hire, train, manage, supervise, and evaluate professional, student staff, and/or interns for wellness services.
Coordination, Collaboration & Implementation of Health Promotion and Wellness Strategies
- Plan, coordinate and manage a peer educator/mentor/counseling/wellbeing coaching program.
- Collaborate with and support students, residential life staff, campus offices and community organizations in the planning and implementation of wellness focused activities on campus.
- Coordinate outreach activities; participate in events; serve as university liaison both on and off campus.
- Make available health and wellness education resources to the campus community
- Provide direct student education and outreach.
- Oversee department digital presence including the Counseling and Wellness web and social media pages
- Establish and maintain partnership with departments that support underserved student populations, to better support these populations, address health inequities, and improve access to health and wellness programs and services.
- Evaluate programs for student learning outcomes, individual health and wellness status, and behavior changes. Keep records of wellness program utilization and additional data points.
- Develop and lead wellness workshops and create written material on a variety of wellness related topics important to college students.
- Assist in the creation of informational documents regarding trending topics such as burnout prevention, healthy sleep, time management, and mindfulness
- Plan and present in new student orientation and other outreach events to keep students informed of resources
- Other duties as assigned.
