The Human Resources Department at Long Beach Community College (LBCC) is seeking a highly skilled Human Resources Manager to lead and support key HR functions with a focus on academic recruitment and selection, onboarding, and professional development. In this dynamic role, you will manage the full-cycle recruitment of faculty and academic personnel, develop and implement effective onboarding and training programs, and design professional development initiatives that foster academic excellence. Additionally, you will oversee performance management, compliance, and accommodations, ensuring a positive and inclusive work environment for our academic staff. - Advanced salary placement: Generally, new employees start at the first step on the salary schedule. Advanced salary placement may be considered on a case-by-case basis; however, please note that requests are typically capped at Step 3.

Duties
GENERAL PURPOSE
Under general direction, plans, coordinates, and evaluates the District's academic and classified human resource management functions. An incumbent may supervise and participate in a variety of professional-level human resource management functions depending on department need, such as: recruitment, classification and compensation, compliance, performance, discipline, and professional development programs.
DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICSHuman Resources Manager is responsible for managing, coordinating, and participating in assigned areas of programmatic responsibility in the Department of Human Resources. An incumbent provides professional advice and counsel to District administrators, managers, supervisors and employees on human resources matters. Duties are carried out with considerable independence within the framework of established rules, regulations, policies, procedures and guidelines.
Human Resources Manager is distinguished from Human Resources Analyst in that an incumbent in the later class performs a variety of professional, technical, and analytical assignments related to human resource administration. Human Resources Analyst may provide lead work direction and training to assigned staff as needed.

Qualifications
Education, Training and Experience:
Graduation from a four-year college or university with a major in public or business administration, human resources, psychology or a related field; five years of progressively responsible professional human resource management experience; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
Licenses; Certificates; Special Requirements:
May require a valid California driver's license and the ability to maintain insurability under the District's vehicle insurance policy.
Meeting the minimum requirements of the position does not guarantee advancement in the selection process. Candidate qualifications will be assessed to determine those who meet and exceed requirements, and are deemed most competitive amongst the applicant pool to proceed.

Selection Process:
The following examination segments are pass/fail and may be utilized during the selection process:

- in-person or online:
