The Case Aide plays a vital role in supporting the mission of the Cal State San Bernardino Reentry Initiative (CSRI) by assisting participants in their transition and reintegration into the community. Under the general supervision of the Center Manager, the Case Aide works independently and collaboratively to provide administrative support, monitor participant progress, and assist in case management functions. This position requires strong communication, organizational skills, and a commitment to fostering a positive, prosocial environment for participants.

The University depends upon UEC to provide services that cannot be supported with state funds. We're responsible for business enterprises on campus including, but not limited to, dining, bookstore, convenience store, and vending services. We also serve as the grantee for federal, state, and local funding for research and sponsored projects.
Position Summary
Temporary, Non-Exempt, Full Time, Benefitted position through 6/30/2025 (Appointment may be renewed annually based upon availability of funds, availability of work and satisfactory job performance).
Salary: $3,813.00-$4,680.00 per month.
Location: CSRI San Bernardino.
Work Schedule
40 hours per week. 8:45AM-5:15PM, Monday-Friday (with some evenings and Saturdays required).

Typical Activities
Under minimal supervision of the Center Manager, the Case Aide will work independently to:
- Handle incoming and outgoing correspondence, providing information, and responding and directing calls and inquiries in an efficient manner.
- Provide courteous and professional customer service to all.
- Be responsible for assisting participants in becoming more positive, productive, and prosocial members in the community by monitoring participant's compliance with program expectations.
- Prepare and maintain accurate records and documentation according to agency specifications.
- Observe participant performance and participation in video-conferenced class settings.
- Monitor participant compliance, evaluating and documenting participant progress and goal achievements.
- Support participant growth and development that aligns with program goals.
- Utilize progressive prosocial interventions and strategies in accordance with agency's objectives, policies, and procedures that support participants' programming and growth.
- As directed by the center manager, assist caseworkers in effective case management.
- Some travel required.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Education & Experience:
- High School Diploma or its equivalent AND one year experience in general office clerical work or one year of training in a vocational school/college.
- Other:
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to write clear and concise reports and express ideas and recommendations orally.
- Ability to observe, respond, recall, and document complex situations with tact and discretion and handle confidential and sensitive information.
- Possess fundamental oral and written communication skills.
- Possess general knowledge of office methods, procedures and practices, and a working knowledge of proper English grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
- Ability to write clear and concise reports and express ideas and recommendations orally.
- Ability to work collaboratively with clients and other professionals.
- Ability to take initiative and work independently and cooperatively as a team member.
- Ability to establish and maintain, joint working relationships with employers, staff, participants, and community partners of diverse backgrounds.
- Ability to use standard office equipment and standard office software, such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and Access, email, internet programs and communication platforms, such as Zoom, and related computer software programs.
- Typing/keystroke skills are required; a speed of 45 W.P.M. is necessary.
- Knowledge of reentry programs, criminal justice systems, and resources.
