Job Summary


The Office of Precollege Outreach and Engagement encourages applications for multiple Peer Advisor positions! These positions are open to CU and non-CU Boulder students who are interested in being Peer Advisors for the Mountain (Roaring Fork/Summit) Precollegiate Programs.

These positions require the staff member to support program participants during their stay on the Boulder campus, serving in various capacities throughout their employment.

Peer Advisor and Office Assistant positions are available. For details please see job duties below. Training for Mountain Programs will be sent to those who apply.

Who We Are


The Office of Precollege Outreach and Engagement, partners with communities across Colorado and beyond to provide first-generation students and their families with comprehensive college preparation and social development programming.


What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be

Peer Advisor (available positions- 15-20)
Work collaboratively with other program staff and support community needs as they arise.
Residential Advisors weekends and nights are required
All programs will be in person
Previous experience related to working with first-generation students.
Support student tutoring as needed
Mentoring students through Peer Groups
Housing will be provided

Office Assistant (available positions 4)
Take attendance during Breakfast/Lunch
Support closing ceremony planning
Support class sessions if needed as a floating TA
Other duties as assigned
Housing will be provided on a need basis

**All position responsibilities:
Weekend and nights may be required
Monitor health and safety of program participants in residence halls.
Must be accountable for personal duties with ability to execute with some direction, but also be self-directed.
Follow CU Boulder's Child Safety Policies accurately.
Must attend all program orientation prior to start or program (Details will be sent to those that apply)
Must attend all training sessions prior to start of program (Details will be sent to those who apply)
Work collaboratively with program directors, and report any concerns and needs in a timely manner
Work collaboratively with other program staff and support community needs as they arise.

What You Should Know

  • Mountain Program Dates: June 4th - June 18th, 2025.
  • 40 hours per week, no overtime offered.
  • Tentative work schedules:
    • Peer Advisors: M-F 5pm-10pm, Saturday 8-hour shift, Sunday 7-hour shift.
    • Office Assistants: M-F 8am-5pm; no weekends required.


What We Can Offer


The hourly rate is $18.00 - $25.00 per hour. Room and board will be provided.

Temporary positions at the University of Colorado are not benefits-eligible, however, all positions are eligible for paid sick leave.

What We Require


Pursuing Bachelor's degree and completed at least one year of undergraduate coursework.

Excellent skills working with youth.
