Job Summary:
Network Assistants are utilized in conjunction with Bucknell's Network Engineers to advance the University's efforts towards employing a stable,
up-to-date, and well maintained wireless and wired campus network. Summer 2025 brings upgrades to many parts of the university network and network assistants can expect to participate in the mapping, installation, configuration, and testing of wireless access points in many of the buildings on campus. Network assistants can also expect to participate in the deployment of more current switching equipment in these areas to support the wireless, and wired network.
This is a 4 month position ( (May 2025 through August 2025), 30-35 hours a week, non-exempt (hourly), non-benefits eligible position based in Lewisburg, Pennsylvania.

Reporting Relationships:
- Reports to the Network Engineer.
What You Will Do:
- Network Activations and Cable Management: Activate, move and deactivate copper network connections across campus. Deploy and run copper and fiber cables in data center and network closets across campus.
- Network Device Management: Configure, install, and upgrade wireless access points. Configure, install, and upgrade network switches.
- Network Support and Troubleshooting: Assist Faulty, Staff and students with network connectivity issues. Basic wired and wireless network troubleshooting. Troubleshoot wireless access points, network switches, zoom phones and other devices across campus.
- Documentation and Administrative: Create and update network documentation. Clean and remove configurations from equipment to be decommissioned.
- Non Essential Functions: The job description's listed responsibilities and tasks are not exhaustive, additional non-essential tasks and responsibilities may be assigned as needed.

The offer rate will be based on a review of the candidate's credentials compared to the qualifications of the position, internal equity, and our overall compensation philosophy.
This role is not budgeted for visa sponsorship at this time, all candidates must be authorized to work in the US at the time of submission of the application.
